I joined this co-working club. It’s heckuva commute for me (30-45 min), but I believe it will pay off in the end. I discovered Switchyards in Atlanta on a business trip. It’s much more than a cheap WeWork as I’ve written before:
Can the WeWork concept survive?
Millions of Americans chose to relocate in the last 10 years. Remote work is the bane of a huge swath of American suburbia. Affordability and family caregiving drove this trend. I believe boredom in the suburbs is creating opportunities for third places that are better for networking than Starbucks and the local libraries.
As Texas gets expensive, another wave of relocations is happening. There’s a huge push towards autonomy in the new AI economy and these hubs will thrive —-sparking new conversations and networks. A single location membership at Switchyards enables access to locations across the country 24×7.
The East and West Coasts could use some more locations!
Let’s see how this goes…
