I participate as a judge in Build.org‘s venture competitions for High school students. Entrepreneurship is a way of life no matter what you do. It starts with the core skills promoted by BUILD: grit, collaboration, innovation, communication, problem-solving, self-management.
Education by indoctrination only goes so far. Everything else involves building a portfolio of life-skills mixed with business savvy. BUILD gives kids with disadvantaged backgrounds a chance to rise above their circumstances and become confident, self-motivated leaders. There is a formula which works here and it needs to be shared widely.
