Device-free meetings?

Being device-free can be a scary experiment for in-person meetings. It’s scarier to think I wouldn’t be able to blog like this using my iPhone. 🙂

Here’s a counterpoint from Marc Benioff:

Article

There was a time when work happened using pen and paper. Social media meant handing out business cards and magazine articles. The hand-written graffiti on whiteboards and chalk boards confirmed productivity.

Office visits and client meetings were daily rituals. You looked into people’s eyes and never forgot a face. Of course, smart phones didn’t exist to help you escape these cumbersome encounters.

I believe Marc Benioff is onto something here. A bygone era maybe what the doctor ordered to restore mindfulness and better decision-making. And you might make a new friend or two. 🙂
