Taking a Stand

Standing up for something is hard. We should stand up wherever we are (in government, corporate boardrooms, nonprofits, religious institutions, etc.) and launch programs that bridge society’s divisions.

I was a speaker at my alma mater’s convocation many years ago honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and, more recently, have hosted dialogues around diversity. Some of my best friends face obstacles I rarely encounter. Our shared humanity is at stake if we ignore the daily threats to African-Americans and other minority communities. I can do more to make a difference by understanding the problem.

This brief video portrays systemic racism so that anyone can understand.
