Participating in Round Rock’s civic program for residents. The Round Rock – Austin area was recently chosen as the top performing city in America. Its initial claim to fame was Dell Computers and perhaps, a famous donut shop.

Jobs are coming to the area resulting in a massive population influx. The city of Round Rock would be akin to Fremont, California with its educated workforce, good schools, and decent neighborhoods. A Tesla factory is nearby, too. Homes in Fremont were once affordable. They now soar over 1.5 million dollars. Round Rock remains affordable but could experience similar inflation.

I’ve participated in similar programs such as Leadership Austin. Look forward to learning more. I’m especially interested in how Round Rock can be resilient in the face of climate change. The lakes and creeks are running dry. Stage 1 drought restrictions remain in effect.
