Hackathons are great for testing your ideas. Whether you are an idea hacker or a full stack engineer, it’s something you should try out. Do it for yourself or for your company. You’ll learn something.

Here’s an effort from 5 years ago. My core competency was getting parking tickets. I went to a hackathon to solve my problem.

My team actually won a BeMyApp weekend event. We didn’t have the time to make our mobile MVP scale. I still haven’t seen any apps that solve this problem.

Something like NextDoor certainly helps. But the problem hasn’t gone away. 😦
