I’ve been a long-time practitioner of pranayama thanks to the guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living Foundation. The course referenced in this HBS article has helped my family build resilience and improve overall health outcomes. The breathing course has gone through changes — it’s much shorter and more prescriptive — taken into factor the time-starved nature of our lives.
I repeat this course often to sustain the practice. The hardest thing was commuting and aligning travel schedules for the course, which I’ve taken in far-flung places — Tokyo, Singapore, Bangalore, NYC, SF, Seattle, and Austin. Thankfully, it’s online now. Highly recommend it for anyone seeking transformation without going anywhere. Breathing is table stakes regardless of what happens in the world.
