A Cloud strategy is indispensable for most organizations. A Cloud First approach takes talent, action and adoption.
Half the world’s population depends on the Cloud today. The real challenge will be re-tooling the other half. A ‘People First’ strategy will drive results faster. And it’s needed much more for the ‘have-nots.’
Increasingly, global leaders are moving towards a myopic world view. They ask, “what’s in it for me?” or “why should my people care about the rest of the world?” Well, the Cloud should connect all people. Everyone is a consumer. Everyone deserves access to technology and education. But half the world’s population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day.
Getting ahead means putting people first — before business goals, magic quadrants and brilliant technologies. Embracing a leadership journey from ego to empathy can really motivate your teams.
Technology brings us together, but the most disadvantaged among us can’t be ignored. Otherwise, Cloud adoption will slow down.
[I’m reminded of this old Michael Jackson video filmed in the Favelas of Rio]
